Coachella Style

Coachella Style Anna Golka

With Coachella just around the corner, Southern Californians have but this one thing on their minds. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram feeds are coming up all things Coachella. And although it is primarily a musical festival, it would be a lie to say that there is not large fashion scene surrounding the event. Crazy prints, crop tops, sheer everything, fringe, and boots; anything goes at Coachella (well, almost). So if you’re like me (secretly more excited to create outfits and do fashion research at the festival than you are for the music) then here are some great outfit options:

Virtual Shopsanity: My Favorite Places to Shop Online

Continuing with our week of online shopping destination, here are three more we just keep browsing! Each one offers a range of uniques articles of clothing, shoes and accessories.
Kithnyc is the best place to shop for high end and exclusive gear. Whether you love to wear sneakers or oxfords this site will supply your needs. I love the fact that they take pride in giving you top of the line shoes. You can also find clothes and accessories such as bracelets, hats, and even letterman jackets.  It doesn’t matter If you’re a fan of Jeremy Scott or Mark Mcnairy there’s a shoe for you and that’s what I love about this website

Dockers has been in the game for a while now and I’ve always been a fan of their gear, which only grew stronger when the created the Alpha Khaki. I’m trying to get  every pair they create. But besides that Dockers offer a range of great items and they are always on top of their game when it comes to creating pieces for the seasons. I love that they offer affordable clothing and that they design clothes to fit the different body types of men.

Retail Therapy: Fabulous Online Shopping Destinations

For shopaholics like me, we know there are more opportunities to shop than your traditional brick and mortar shops. Whatever your reason may be, getting out to the mall or to local boutiques isn’t always easy with your busy lifestyle.
Here are some of my favorite online shopping destinations.
Shopbop: Shop Bop is one of my favorite go-to online shopping destinations. Since their start in 2000, Shopbop has grown into one of the leading fashion retailers in the world. Their collections cater to every lifestyle and budget. Something I love about Shop Bop is their great use of the filtering tool. You can narrow down almost any item to it’s size, brand, color, fabric, and price with just a few clicks. Shop Bop also offers, “My Shop Bop” where you can manage items that you love and brands to remember for future online shopping!
Nordstrom: Although Nordstrom does have brick and mortar stores, their online presence is one of the best things that has ever happened to the internet. Whether you are shopping on their website or their fabulous mobile app available on the iPad or iPhone; Nordstrom makes it easy as 1-2-3 to shop until you drop! What’s great about shopping at Nordstrom online is that you get, free shipping, free returns, all the time. The deal breaker for me was knowing that I could buy online and return in the store if I needed to. Their ‘pick up in store’ option is convenient for those times when you need to quickly run into the store and pick up your items without lines and the temptation of more shopping.

Piperlime: Who doesn’t love Piperlime? I love their fashion picks from style gurus like Rachel Zoe, Rachel Bilson,  and Olivia Palermo. The site is very easy to navigate and what I love most are their options you have for browsing. For example: currently on their homepage, you can look at - Top 10 Fall Trends, Rachel Zoe’s Picks, Loving Leather-Like Denim, Boot-week, Girl on a Budget (my favorite) and The Men’s Shop. How easy is that? Instead of browsing through hundreds of items, Piperlime makes it easy for you to shop for exactly what you are looking for!

Thats The Plainest Way To Put It However

That’s the plainest way to put it, however, Olivier Rousteing’s designs were any and everything but plain. Known for its sex appeal, boldness and various graphics, the Balmain Spring/Summer 2013 Collection brought it more than ever to the runway.
With its structured, long jackets accompanied by the 90’s-style shoulders, the collection mixed masculinity along with spiciness with its plunging necklines.
There was plenty of leather, bright harlequin patterns, heavy embellishment, various prints and emphasis on the waist with belted jackets and dresses.
I loved so many of the looks, but two of my favorites were at 1:45 and 2:30. What’s your take on the Balmain collection, what were your favorite looks?
Keep it Haute,
Amberly “HauteLady” Moore

LFW: Simone Rocha Spring 2013

To simply state Simone Rocha’s third season on the LFW runway, it would be: Grown up schoolgirl kissed by the English garden. The collection had everything from “overblown lace daisies”, shiny patent leather, knits, embroidered fabrics, and voluminous silhouettes. It was as if we were looking into Elle Fanning or Alexa Chung’s Spring/Summer closet. Rocha’s signature Perspex heel brogues with an elevated platform never seem to disappoint the fans and the crowd.  -GK

Pfw Paul Joe Paul Joes Paris Fashion Week

PFW: Paul & Joe
Paul & Joe’s Paris Fashion Week collection was the perfect combination of boyish and pretty. Loose-fitted shorts and structured coats have us wearing the menswear trend past this fall while still incorporating a new spin to keep the excitement up. Soft pastels and bold yellows and oranges shout femininity to the max. Incorporate this style now by using the shape inspiration from this collection but pairing it with fall’s most gorgeous colors.

Fall Trends: Pedal to the Rebel

Fall is a great time to let out the inner rebel in you. You can pair a fun ASOS skull ring with your black maxi + jean jacket or rock your Sam Edelman ‘Lorissa’ Spiked Heels with your new LBD. Either way, this fall, there’s room for everyone to bring out the rebel inside. -JG

Fall 2012: Adorn Accordingly.

What is the best way to spice up an old tee, carry over wearability with spring and summer tops all while staying warm this fall: hats and scarves. What you will soon learn about me is that I absolutely, positively love hats and scarves; aside from earrings, they are the best choice of adornment. Hats not only offer warmth and protection from treacherous inclement weather days, they also offer “protection” from treacherous inclement hair days (which, if you are like me, happens often).
This season there are a variety of styles, textures and prints to choose from, so don’t get discouraged if you have yet to meet your match made in hat heaven. Here are some haute hats and sassy scarves to try this fall without breaking the piggy bank from Forever21 and Urban Outfitters:

Fall Trends: Green

Fall is the perfect season to wear jewel tone colors. Emerald green and Forest green are in for this autumn season. It can be paired up with something black, white or golden mustard to show off the rich color. Do you own any green in your closet? Visit Get Stylin’ and show off your green wardrobe. -GK

Favorite Fall Trend Going Baroque The Weather

The weather is finally starting to cool off bringing us one step closes to that fall closet that we’ve been yearning to wear since September started. The trends for this fall go on and on: leather in every color and form, lace appliques where ever they look fabulous, and classic military style. But by far my favorite fall trend and then one I cannot wait to find piece to fill my closet with is the Baroque trend. Inspired by art, Baroque style has literally made pieces of clothing a work of art. Gorgeous, exaggerated prints and deep, jewel-toned colors have us coveting this trend. Not sure where to start?
