Coachella Style

Coachella Style Anna Golka

With Coachella just around the corner, Southern Californians have but this one thing on their minds. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram feeds are coming up all things Coachella. And although it is primarily a musical festival, it would be a lie to say that there is not large fashion scene surrounding the event. Crazy prints, crop tops, sheer everything, fringe, and boots; anything goes at Coachella (well, almost). So if you’re like me (secretly more excited to create outfits and do fashion research at the festival than you are for the music) then here are some great outfit options:
Nasty Gal Acid Romper, Topshop Floral Stripe Dress, Topshop Giraffe Print Shorts,  ASOS Midi Dress, Forever 21 Denim Vest, Diesel Sheet Top, Free People Crochet Sneaker

Style Recap:Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel started the morning off right by wearing a beautiful bijoux silk  dress from Oscar de la Renta’s Fall line to Good Morning America.  The dress itself is stunning and perfect for the summer or fall.

Style Recap: Paris Street Style

This street style shot captured by Vanessa Jackman is fun and summery with a dash of downtown cool. The multicolored shorts are a total statement-maker, and extra color is added with espadrilles sandals and a Cambridge satchel. With the moto jacket, this outfit could take you right through those early fall days coming up soon.

Style Recap: Jessica Biel

Wearing Dior Couture to the premiere of an action movie (Total Recall) is a gutsy move, but Jessica Biel proves she knows how to make an evening gown with pockets work. I love the cap-toe Louis Vuitton shoes and the statement jewelry, making the whole outfit a little retro-futuristic. Which is good for a remake of a movie about the future, no?

Todays Gs Style Inspiration Comes From

Today’s GS style inspiration comes from tweedandvulture. This outfit perfectly incorporates menswear into a casual, women’s look. The button-up shirts and loafers are classic menswear essentials. Mixing them with floral denim adds the perfect girl punch.

DIY: Embellished Collars

Embellishing the collars of button-up blouses is currently on trend. These tops can be found enhanced by buttons, jewels, studs, and more. If you’re looking to purchase a shirt such as this then check out these options from Nasty Gal and ASOS. If you’re creative spirit is coming alive and you’re in the mood to DIY this yourself then check out this project below from HonestlyWTF. Don’y be afraid to try this DIY with various types of shirts such as one that is sheer. Here’s the link for the full list of instructions and what you’ll need. Happy DIYing!

GS Style Inspiration of the Day

Black Roses
This look from acollectedgentleman proves it pays off to try a new trend – this time, red pants. This deep maroon is a way to make a bright, statement-making trend seem almost classic. Add a navy blazer (I love a navy + red color combo) and printed shirt, and voila! Instant style. Show us your take on this trend at Get Stylin’.

DIY: Dip-Dye

dip diy shoes, dip legs, dip diy, painting diy
What I love about this DIY is how versatile it is. Love Maegan dip dyed a pair of shoes but I could see myself going for a jacket, a pair of pants, and even jewelry and other household objects. The whole thing is so easy – just dip whatever your item is into oil-based paint, then let it dry – that it doesn’t seem too hard to get caught up in it and end up with an entire colorblocked house. But then again, is that really a bad thing?

Totally Loving This Look From Tweedandvulture

Totally loving this look from tweedandvulture. It’s simple yet classy. It’s nice that she kept it casual with the button down and lace shorts, but then stayed true to her style with the boots and colorful box chain. This is an outfit perfectly done for the summer and its heat. Come visit GetStylin and how us how you dress during the summer. -IJ
